Fresh off her triumphant conquest of the infamous Hellgate 100k in December of 2025, Lexi DeLisle has submitted an overview of that race, and of her brilliant year on the trails, with a report that she has entitled: “Ring’ing In a “HELLISH” Year: Furbutt’s Backyard, The Ring, and Hellgate 100k Reflections.”

After a full year of being AWOL from its perch overlooking the Shenandoah Valley from the side of the Kerns Mountain section of the Massanutten Trail, a trio of misfits with too much time on their hands launched a Rock Rescue Mission. John Dodds reports on the successful recovery of the landmark rock at Q’s View, just in time for the MMT 100 runners in the 2025 race.

Chris Scott, a founding member of the VHTRC and the genesis of many of our events, died on April 2 after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. His good friend, Anstr Davidson, reflects on Chris’s life and his contributions to the VHTRC and the broader trail running community.

Chris Scott passed away Sunday after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 74. Chris was the genesis of the VHTRC. While Keith Knipling does not go that far back, he has been around long enough to have run with Chris and witness his magic, as well as hearing many stories. Chris was one of a kind and, without Chris, there would be no VHTRC.
